Spring Festival Gala, a Chinese grand ceremony? Well…As Chinese, my families and me watch Spring Festival Gala
every year like most Chinese family at New Year’s Eve. This year, a big
surprise appeared on the stage of CCTV Spring Festival Gala. A program called
Hero which performed by Sun Nan a Chinese famous singer and 540 Alpha 1s caught millions of people’s eyes all over the world.
It was amazing and unbelievable that so many robots
performed on such a huge stage without any mistakes. But Alpha 1s and its players had done it! That one minute performance on stage
requiring ten years of practice has always been a true portrayal of the fine art
performers. As a dancing robot, in order to show its best performance to
national audiences, Alpha 1s also did a lot of effort. The flexible dancing and
neatly lined up, Alpha 1S showed its powerful performance.
Alpha 1S can be infinitely extended in software and
applications, and also can be compatible with both IOS and Android mobile phone
systems. Through the data cable, Alpha 1S can be connected to computers. Through special software, users can
edit their own procedures without the need of programming knowledge of systems.
And the entire editing process is for 3D visualization, user can edit preview
ALPHA 1S, which makes the whole process more intuitive.
In addition, Alpha 1S has been added a new
"read-back" feature, users can edit directly on the fuselage. The mobile
phone APP which connects the robot Alpha 1S can record every movement
trajectory and angle data of Alpha 1S , which reproduce the movements to
achieve "read-back" to make editing Alpha 1S action more convenient and user-friendly.
During the performing at New Year’s Eve, 540 Alpha
1S were arranged in 4 9x15-squares. In order to allow Alpha 1S of each array
can have 3 different sets of action in pursuit of a better stage effects,
technicians were tailored 12 steps. Each step is designed by taking into
account the range of motion of the robot, but also to coincide with the song on
the rhythm. It’s really not a small challenge. The lineup even has been applied
for a Guinness world record.
These cute and cool Alpha 1S robots in 2016 CCTV Spring Festival Gala would be remembered by all
Chinese people and artificial intelligence territories. There is no doubt that many
people want to put Alpha 1S as permanent collection for memorial. I believe
that Alpha 1S will bring joy to increasingly more people.
